WHO is addressing the ongoing health crisis in Afghanistan by coordinating with partners to maintain essential health services, respond to COVID-19, manage trauma care, and prevent disease outbreaks. With donor support, WHO is supplying life-saving medical materials and ensuring rapid response to urgent health needs. Since August 2021, over $3.4 million from the Contingency Fund for Emergencies has been used to airlift critical supplies and respond to the worsening humanitarian situation. Continued funding is vital to protect lives, reduce suffering, and prevent further displacement.
