Since October 7, 2023, the conflict has led to mass civilian casualties and overwhelmed health systems, particularly in Gaza and parts of Lebanon. Hospitals are operating far beyond capacity amid severe shortages of medical supplies, food, water, and fuel. Attacks on health facilities, workers, and ambulances have been reported, further compromising care. WHO is coordinating with partners to deliver emergency medical aid, support overwhelmed hospitals, and respond to disease outbreaks. They continue to advocate for the protection of healthcare and safe access to medical services. Above all, WHO calls for peace to end the suffering.
