SUDAN

Assisting families impacted by conflict and displacement.

Since April 2023, ongoing violence in Sudan has left 11 million people in urgent need of health care. Over two-thirds of hospitals in affected areas are non-functional, and those still open face critical shortages and constant threats to safety. Attacks on health workers, facilities, and supply chains have severely disrupted care and disease surveillance.

WHO, alongside partners, is coordinating emergency health services, delivering vital supplies, and reinforcing disease monitoring efforts. They are also supporting neighboring countries, like Chad, Egypt, and Ethiopia, in providing care to displaced Sudanese populations.
