After more than a decade of conflict, Syria faces one of the world’s largest displacement and health crises. Over 7.4 million people are internally displaced, and more than half of the country’s hospitals are non-functional. Vulnerable groups, especially those in camps, are at high risk of malnutrition, infections, and chronic diseases due to overcrowding, poor sanitation, and limited access to care. WHO is delivering life-saving aid, strengthening disease surveillance, and supporting health facilities across the country. With nearly 15 million people in urgent need, WHO’s response includes trauma care, maternal and child health, chronic disease treatment, and mental health services, while working toward the long-term recovery of Syria’s health system.
